In order to minimize wait time and optimize access to care, SACE utilizes the Open Access Model, endorsed by the National Council for Behavioral Health.

Schedules remain open so services can be provided when needed, typically within 1-2 days. Response time is determined by the acuity of a person’s assessed behavioral health condition at the moment he/she is in contact with the provider.  

Requests for exceptions to advanced access scheduling, more than 3 days in advance will also be honored. Trained staff triage and assess the need of each individual.

Emergency appointments are offered within 24 hours to ensure children are seen in a timely manner.

SB&H also identifies immediate safety needs and problems of the member to stabilize behavioral health crises and offer immediate services as needed.
