Master Level Practicum Experience
Students enrolled in graduate programs leading to a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling or Social Work apply for and may be accepted into the TI-SB&H Masters level practicum placement program. Accepted students have a semester-long part-time experience in one of the various SB&H service delivery programs. They receive individual supervision and attend bi-monthly group supervision.
Master Level Intern Experience
Students enrolled in graduate programs leading to a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling or Social Work apply for and may be accepted into the TI-SB&H Masters level Intern placement program.
Accepted students have a year-long full-time experience in one of the various SB&H service delivery programs. They receive individual supervision and attend bi-monthly group supervision.
Doctoral Practicum Experience
The TI at SB&H accepts first through third year practicum students from a variety of university graduate programs where students are preparing for a career as psychologists. Each accepted student is required to commit two full days to service delivery (clinical experience) with individual supervision and a weekly clinical colloquium.
Doctoral Psychology Internship Experience
The SB&H Doctoral Psychology Internship is accredited by the American Psychology Association and is a member is the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers. The program is committed to developing well-rounded psychologists who have an interest in delivering strength’s based, recovery oriented services in a public integrated health setting. The program espouses the philosophy of the Practitioner-Scholar model of training. On-site clinical experience is balanced by weekly colloquia, didactic training, as well as individual and group supervision that provide an excellent venue for learning and professional development. The program requires 2000 hours spread over 52 weeks to complete. The internship positions are filled each year through the APPIC match. http://appic.org/
Post-Doctoral Experience
Following successful completion of a doctoral degree in psychology, post-graduate professionals may apply to Southwest Behavioral & Health Services for a variety of clinical positions. Successful applicants receive individual as well as group supervision in the specialty they have chosen within the public behavioral health system. This is typically a year-long process but may take up to two years to complete.
