April is Autism Awareness Month. This year, we’re celebrating a milestone in autism care. We’ve selected two local providers to serve as Autism Spectrum Disorder Centers of Excellence. They are Southwest Behavioral & Health Services (SB&H) and Touchstone Health Services.
The centers, scheduled to open this summer, are part of our Mercy 360 Community reinvestment plan. Mercy Maricopa and Mercy Care Plan are investing in “social determinants” of health—like how we work, live and play—to improve quality of life for people in our community. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects thousands of people in our area. We’re focusing on the Maryvale area of Phoenix.
