Middle School to Have Counselor On Site Next Year

The Humboldt Unified School District Governing Board approved a contract at its meeting June 12 with Southwest Behavioral and Health Services for services that will include family counseling to improve communication and relationships; classroom behavioral concerns; and issues that may come up with loss, divorce, incarceration, depression and anxiety, self-harming behaviors and suicidal ideation.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s new recruits are being trained to better identify and help people who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. The Police Department has added “mental health first aid” as a new curriculum for recruits at Havasu’s Western Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy, joining law enforcement agencies throughout Mohave County in providing help to those in mental or emotional crises.
Grant Addresses Emergency Housing Needs
