3Moms parent volunteer Cindy Sierzchula participated in the DEA’s Prescription Drug Take-Back Day press conference. Sharing the tragic story of her daughter’s fatal prescription drug overdose, Cindy urged parents to participate in the DEA’s Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 30th to dispose of any unused, unwanted or expired prescription or over-the-counter medicines. Cindy’s story touched many members of the media and she had several interviews after the press event. Cindy’s message to parents focused on 3 things: 1) learn about the drugs and alcohol in their child’s world; 2) talk to your kids about the risk and dangers of drug and alcohol abuse; and 3) safeguard their medications, and disposing of unwanted medicines at the Take-Back day on April 30th.
