From prevention to treatment, we have the resources and tools to guide you every step of the way in keeping your kid drug free or getting your teen back on the path to being drug free. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, friend or relative, there comes a time when you need some help talking about tough issues like drinking and drug use. Through community education and awareness, we provide educational tools, information and resources to help with these conversations.

Here is a list of resources that we offer that you might find helpful to better communicate with a child in your life:

Partnering with Families BookletThis downloadable booklet is full of information for parents on prevention. It contains age-appropriate conversations to have with your child, information on laying the foundation, specific drug information, how you can spot drug or alcohol use and what to do if you need immediate help.

Drug Guide – Our drug guide will give you access to information about the most common substances in our Arizona communities. You will learn what the drugs look like, what kids call certain drugs, and effects of the drugs on kids.

How to Develop a Family Policy – There are certain steps to take when setting up a family policy regarding substance use that we find helpful. These guidelines will help your family meeting go smoothly.

Your Child Needs YouAs a parent, you have tremendous influence on your child’s life. Your constant and caring involvement can help inspire your child to make healthy, drug-free choices. This booklet will help you become familiar with the drugs in your child’s world, talk with your child about drugs and alcohol, identify the signs of drug or alcohol use and intervene now if your child is in trouble.

The purpose of these toolkits is to educate parents by understanding what drugs look like, how drugs affect the brain, how to have conversations with kids regarding drugs and drinking, how to navigate through tough transitions in teen’s lives and provide scenarios for teens if they were asked to drink or use drugs.
