CARES Act Helps Housing Issues for Those With HIV/AIDS Amid COVID-19

Funds are still available to help solve housing instability issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic for those with HIV/AIDS, according to Southwest Behavioral & Health Services in Phoenix. The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization received $100,000 from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act back in May to help assist with short-term rent, mortgage and utility assistance requests.
SB&H Names Erica Missicano VP of Compliance and Risk Management

Southwest Behavioral & Health Services, an innovative leader in behavioral health, today announced that effective immediately, Erica Missicano has joined the organization as vice president of compliance and risk management. Missicano will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s risk management and compliance departments and ensuring that all procedures, protocols and strategies are fully implemented to protect SB&H and its assets. She will also promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability.

Southwest Behavioral & Health Services' Housing Opportunities for Persons With HIV/Aids (HOPWA) program will receive an additional $100,000 in CARES Act funding to assist with short-term rent, mortgage, and utility assistance requests. The funding will boost current program resources needed to address increases in issues for housing instability that are a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The CARES Act Eviction Prevention Program is designated to help America’s low-income families and most vulnerable citizens.
